Background of the Study

Change management is a critical aspect of organizational growth, ensuring businesses adapt to evolving market trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements. Effective change management strategies help minimize employee resistance, improve productivity, and sustain operational efficiency (Ogunleye & Bello, 2024). Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has undergone several structural and technological changes to enhance service delivery.

In Nasarawa State, GTBank has implemented digital banking solutions, branch restructurings, and customer service innovations. However, the success of these initiatives depends on how well employees adapt to changes. While some employees embrace change positively, others experience resistance, affecting performance and service delivery. This study examines how change management strategies influence employee performance at GTBank.

Statement of the Problem

Organizations often face difficulties in implementing change, as employees may resist new processes due to uncertainty, fear of job loss, or inadequate communication. In GTBank, recent changes in digital banking and operational strategies may have impacted employee morale and performance (Aliyu, 2023). Understanding the effectiveness of change management strategies in GTBank is essential for ensuring smooth transitions and sustained productivity.
